PREPaRE Training Outcomes and Evaluations

All individuals who receive PREPaRE training will gain a better understanding of the organization and function of a comprehensive crisis team (Workshop1) and/or the knowledge and skills necessary to meet the mental health needs of students and staff in the aftermath of a crisis (Workshop 2).  This includes knowledge of crisis reactions, prevention of psychological trauma as possible, assessment of risk for severe psychological trauma, and interventions and evaluation of the effectiveness of those interventions. From PREPaRE trainings, school mental health professionals will also better understand their roles within the comprehensive team.

Additionally, individuals who have leadership roles (e.g., crisis team leaders, supervisors, etc.) and/or firsthand experience with school-based crisis response will be able to use the PREPaRE curricula and materials to provide informal in-service training for their staff. They may not, however, represent such in-service training as an official PREPaRE workshop or themselves as certified PREPaRE trainers unless they have completed the appropriate Training of Trainers workshop(s). All PREPaRE participants complete evaluations to determine level of knowledge acquisition and the effectiveness/value of the workshop.
